There isn't much rules to follow but here is just some general and common knowledge of sailing. 1. Always wear a life jacket. Even on the dock you should always wear a life jacket. 2. The no go zone. Which is basically where the wind is coming from. You can't sail towards the wind as it's hard to catch it with your sail.
